Camito is test preparation for the driving theory test of the place you are learning in. It is delivered online, on your phone. It teaches road rules in short lessons and tests you on each lesson, and it explains every answer, right or wrong.

The written theory test of the place you are learning to drive in: the knowledge test for a learner permit in the United States, the theory test in the United Kingdom, the test for a learner licence or learner permit in Australia, and the theory exam that comes before a learner’s permit or a licence everywhere else Camito teaches. Camito prepares you for that test. It has no part in setting it, giving it or marking it. Passing a test inside Camito is practice, and it counts for nothing with the authority that issues your permit or licence.

Camito is on sale in 6 countries, with 58 courses, every one of them listed on the home page and in the app when you pick a course. Courses for Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland are written too, but Camito is not in those countries’ App Stores yet. Camito never shows you one place’s road law under another place’s name. If your state or country is not there yet, either we have not written its course or Camito is not in its App Store yet. We have not hidden it.

Yes. The lessons and questions ship inside the app rather than being fetched from a server while you study, so the course works on a bus, in a basement and on a bad connection. Your progress is written on the phone you study on and is not uploaded anywhere, so it does not wait for a connection either.

A lesson is ten questions and you can miss two. Get eight right on the first try and the lesson is mastered. Miss three and Camito marks it needs review rather than mastered, and the questions come back. Nothing is taken away from you for it and you lose no points you already earned. Eight out of ten is the same standard a unit test has to meet, so there is one bar to clear and not two.

Thirteen. If you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian to agree before you use Camito. The same two numbers are in the Terms and the Privacy notice, and they say the same thing in both.

Agree that you may use it. Camito takes that at your word: the app does not ask for proof and nobody has to sign anything, so by using it you are telling us you have that permission. That is section 3 of the Terms, and the Privacy notice lists it among the things version 1.0 does not do well, because the rule is stated and not checked.

A parent who wants it to stop does not need us or a reason: delete the app from the phone, and cancel the subscription in the Apple Account that paid for it.

No. This version of Camito has no account: nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to and no password. What you study is written on the phone you studied on and stays there, so it does not move to a new phone and does not come back if you delete the app. Your subscription is held by Apple rather than by us, so if you reinstall Camito or move to a new phone, restoring your purchase in the app is what gives your access back.

None of the course, apart from a free trial if you start one. Camito asks you to subscribe or start the trial before it opens the course, and that screen stays up until you subscribe or restore a subscription you already have. There is no free lesson, no sample, no preview and no waiting period that opens one. The Terms say this in the same words.

The subscription opens every lesson from the first one, the unit tests, practice and the road signs reference, for as long as it lasts. The mock exam at the end of the course map stays locked in this version, subscribed or not.

We do not print a number on this website, because there is no single number to print: the App Store sets the amount in your own currency for the country your Apple Account is in. You see the exact amount, the billing period and the date of the first charge inside the app before you buy anything, and again on the App Store’s own payment sheet.

Yes. The weekly subscription comes with a free trial for somebody who has not had one, which is 3 days at the moment. The app shows how long it lasts and what happens after it before you start, and the App Store’s own payment sheet shows the price and the date of the first charge.

If you do not cancel at least a day before the trial ends, the weekly subscription starts and you are charged. There is still no free lesson.

In the App Store, which billed you. The steps are here. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

When that period ends Camito locks again, and while it is locked you cannot open your progress either. It stays on your phone, and subscribing again opens it as you left it, as long as the app is still installed.

Start here. In most cases it is Restore purchase in the app, on a phone signed in to the same Apple Account that paid. If that does not do it, write to us and we will work through it with you.

Almost nothing. There is no account, so we hold no name, email address or password for you. Your answers, your scores, your progress, the course you picked and your settings are written on your own phone and are not uploaded anywhere.

The only thing that leaves your phone is your subscription. Apple takes the payment and keeps the record of it, with a random number your phone made up, and we keep no copy. This version measures nothing and reports no crashes. If you write to us, we have your email, because you sent it.

The Privacy notice says exactly where each of those lives, who handles it, and the parts we have not settled yet.

Delete the app. That removes everything Camito kept on your phone, completely and at once, and you do not have to ask anybody. There is no deletion inside the app, because there is no account and nothing of yours on a server of ours.

Two things deleting the app does not touch. An email you sent to support is filed under your address, so ask us and we will delete it. And the record of what you bought is Apple’s, under your Apple Account, so we cannot delete it for you. The Privacy notice says both.

No, and be careful of anybody who says theirs are. We write our own questions from local road law and separately cited government factual guidance for driving techniques the applicable law leaves unstated. They are not the real test’s questions and they are not drawn from it.

No. Camito is not a government agency and is not connected with one. No licensing authority has approved, endorsed, certified or partnered with Camito, and we do not issue permits, licences or certificates.
